Partnering with 866 Our Vote, a nationwide election protection organization, the Texas Civil Rights Project needed to spread the message in our state about the Election Protection Hotline for the 2022 midterm election season. We worked with them to create this dynamic piece to get the community excited and emboldened. Answering any question, ranging from first time voter information, getting an absentee ballot, to reporting voter intimidation — the hotline is a valuable resource for voters throughout the state of Texas.
Faced with the need to spread awareness about the Election Protection hotline, the Texas Civil Rights Project came to DSM with the ask to develop TV commercials (in both English and Spanish, :30 and :15 second spots), radio ads (in 6 different languages, :30 second spots), and Youtube Preroll ads (in 6 different languages,:30 second spots), as well as handle media buys for a portion of the ads.
From the initial concepting brainstorm to final delivery and ad space purchases, DSM worked with TCRP to create impactful messaging that raised awareness and fit within the various parameters required for TV, radio, and web broadcast and 6 languages needed for the campaign. The ads ran across the state during election season and enabled TCRP and the Election Protection hotline to help countless voters overcome obstacles and exercise their fundamental right to vote.
