Criselda “Crissy” Rivas is the President and CEO of Dave Sims Media and a force of nature. As a marketing, communications, and business professional she’s as comfortable helping companies grow and scale, build teams, and craft strategic messaging as she is out in the field interviewing everyone from CEOs to farmworkers. During her years as a sociologist, she produced the documentary Voices of the United Farm Worker Movement in Texas chronicling the struggles and successes of the grassroots Cesar Chavez movement in Texas. Crissy is passionate about utilizing her background in research methodology and design, focus groups, survey design, market research, and analysis to help organizations craft strategic and targeted messaging to achieve their goals. As a marketing, communications, and public relations professional she has used her skills to craft content that elevates the brands and missions of a variety of small businesses, large corporations, nonprofit organizations and political candidates. Her years of employment and service in the nonprofit fundraising and development sector helped her hone her fundraising, development, and donor relations strategies. She has put her strategies, messaging and public relations skills to work to raise thousands of dollars for a variety of issues, causes, political candidates and nonprofits. Crissy was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin (B.S Political Science & Latin American Studies), The University of Texas at San Antonio (M.S. in Sociology), and additional Ph.D. studies at The University of California – San Diego
